Today in class you will be given a copy of the Task 2 Rubric and a sample level 6 response to the essay you read. Please review the rubric and read and annotate the sample essay.
Comment to this post about what you notice is necessary to achieve a level six.
You will be given the Task 3 today in class. Read the directions carefully and do all that is asked of you. This Task 3 will be due Wednesday next week, 4/29

To get a level 6 I noticed you have to do a lot of what we already do in newspaper. For example one of the things was to show analysis of the documents by connecting information and ideas from the documents, make connections, etc. In newspaper we do this in our current events and independent reading assignments.
Focus, and logical coherent structure, appropriate devices and transitions. We do this when writing articles.
Going through this article has made me more confident on the score I got. I think I am ready for this part of the regents. I think it is helpful being in this class because if i was in a regular literature class I don't think we would be as prepared.
To get a level six on the pedestrian article i see that he used some of the documents and talked about them. Also used information from before like when he said how texting whole driving is what causes 13% of accidents.
Now maybe next time i could do better.

in order to recieve a level six on the regents articles you need to apply the things that you learned in your english classes. the techniques that he used was he incorperated the documents in his essay and he gave feedback on them. now that i have seen the way a level six essay looks i can see the way i have to write
When I looked at the level six article I saw similar and different things that I did in my own article. The author had a good use of explaining what pedestrian safety was in the introduction, and had a clear understanding of what it actually was that they were talking about. The author also cited information from the text, using correct citations and giving specific quotes as well as summaries. I think the transitions were also very good, because it went in order to the next topic, while still being in the focus of the story. The author was able to analyze the text in their own way, and we always do that in current events and reading assignments, so maybe it will be a lot easier for us, once we know what to do. When I wrote my essay, I think I was able to analyze the text pretty well, because I read it all a few times to understand it, and bring in my own information. Now I do see how to write a level six essay.
This assignment along with any other assignment you give has to be perfect in order to get a level 6. Go above and beyond, give more then expected and attack from different points of view. Connecting ideas and information, making connections just like any other assignment. Putting together skills we learned from articles we have done.

After reading the example essay it is clear to me that my writing was not a 6. I feel that even though it seem my essay was longer the example essay contained a lot more information. I need to site my information clearer. I need to analyze my documents more in order to write a more fluint essay.l I feel that after some more practice i will be able to bring up my score.

I noticed that to achieve a perfect score which is a level 6 there has to be a number amount of things:
1. there has to a strong beginning. the beginning shows what your writing will be about and explains very clearly what's its about like a thesis. Which clearly I didn't do due to lack of understand of the task.
2.you have to do more than just what's being asked. You have to analyze what's being given to you and find a way to make it relevant to your argument or whatever you're trying to say. Make connections, use all the information that's being given and write more than the expected.
3. Try to use outside information to show that you know what you're talking about and make that relevant to what you're speaking about.

In the regents task 2 and 3 i have noticed it has similar facts of what our english class structure is now. As the facts of the essay are based on the documents.. In news paper we also have to make connections with our writing piece that you have us do. As in the current events. What we write about is based on the article and its structure and its main idea. The way it is in the tasks given.
Also, what i noticed wat to get a level six on the essay is every fact given had a back up example. I liked how it had a very strong intro and conclusion. They made there point across very clear for the reader to understand.
What i liked the most was the source of information was relivent.
What i realized i did wrong was my information definately wasnt clear.. I feel like i didnt get my point across because of it. Also my stucture could have been better along with my intro and conclusion. What i liked that i realized from my essay and the example essay was that i used my source of info from the documents. I feel like my weakness in my writing could be handled with lots of practice, and finally be accomplished =)
I understand what is a level six on the regents. In order to get that grade your articles need to apply the things that you learned in your english classes. to get a level 6 on the pedestrian article he used the documents well into his essay. got a lot of information and knew how to use it. i can deffinetly learn from this to improve my task essays.
i agree with melissa because we did learn how to manipulate documents and different types of resources in order to get a sencible responce and to make it correspond with what we write. Honestly, compared to this individual's paper i can do so much better because i knew that before i started part B i wasnt going to get a six or the highest grade offered. i think that if i can practice more with creativity or practice with my vocabulary it can become like this individuals paper.

to get a level 6 , you have to be really organized. you have to complete your thought, and it has to be long, and in your essay you have to do everything the task says to do.
To get a level 6 you need to be completley organized and need to have all the work there. You need to use the information given to you from the essay given.
To get a level six you have use the info that is in the documents. you have to talk about what happen or what is going on. Now i know what a level six looks like. maybe i can get a six on mine next time.
