Today in class we will be watching Channel 1 and trying to get an idea of how they generate a news program around a theme or idea.
Our first issue so far is consumed with ideas about the beginning of a school year. We have a variety of paper topics.
Today you will be meeting in your sections after channel one and starting to learn about the kind of writing you will be doing.

i'm part of the News section and i do know what's expected for this type of writing. I know that this section will be covering the worldwide news & updates on important issues that are happening around us. The information that we will be putting-such as the presidental election will be relevant to those in the WJPS community, because we need to know whose the new leader of our country though no student will be participating in this election:)
there are 5 major factors that need to be included in each article that will give the news section a sucessful paper:
-accuracy
-objectivity
-clarity
-un biased ideas
-balance

I think I have a pretty good understanding of what the entertainment section is all about.
It's really "fluffy news" nobody's lives are changed drastically by it. However it informs people about things such as movies, music, and books.
You review things and either recommend them to people or not recommend them to people. Your object is to tell a brief summary of some things that happen (but not everything, you want to keep some things secret) then you say wy you liked it or didn't like it back your decision up with information and facts you finish by saying you recommend it to someone.
i am in feature section.i know that we need to write a story which is quite interesting to the reader.well,it should not be just a thing what you know,you need to investigate or need to get information from the sources around you.i think it would be a good job for me and i am working on it.

I am so excited to experience working in the entertainment section because it just writing about what kids are into today, such as, movies, books, music and stores. So far I know that entertainment news isn’t supposed to be life changing, I think it is just supposed to be human interest and just the fluff to a newspaper. I cant wait to see how it comes out. >_<

well for starter's im having alot of diffulty writing sports news, and watching cahnnel one can help as well as a news paper, i can look at the sports section, and read leads for ideas on how to start my artical, and as a writer for the wjps (times) balzer i do what is expected to be done by us writers....and that is make a good story and grab our reader's attention!
In the part of the paper i am in, Entertainment, we discussed different ideas about what we want to do. We decided on music, movies, and attactions.

i am in feature section.i know that we need to write a story which is quite interesting to the reader. also interviewing students in the 11th grade and younger then our grade we will see how they feel adn all the different suggestiong they have.
im part of the newspaper section and i already know whats expected for this kind of writing. this section is going to be covering the most important things that goes on in our school and around us. we interview students and teachers to get more information on our topics.
